Death of Igor and Grichka Bogdanov: their non-vaccination would be linked to "a phobia of drugs"

The Covid-19 got the better of Igor and Grichka Bogdanov.

Six days apart, the two brothers, known in particular for their work in popular science, died of complications from the coronavirus.

Both contracted the disease "around December 15", but very quickly, they were hospitalized and "things got worse", explained on BFMTV, this Tuesday morning, Amélie de Bourbon-Parme, the ex-wife from Igor with whom she had two children.

Grichka, 72, was the first to succumb to the disease on December 28.

“Igor survived his brother for a few days, which seemed unthinkable to us, they were so connected.

(…) And at the same time we wanted to believe in it, ”said Amélie de Bourbon-Parme.

But Igor died on Monday.

"They couldn't be apart for too long," commented his ex-wife, who said she and the rest of the family had accompanied the twins "in their last moments.

They were very surrounded ”.

According to his account, Igor Bogdanov "did not know" that his brother was dead because he was already in an artificial coma, but "maybe he felt it".

On the other hand, "he knew that his brother had been intubated", because the twins, installed a few rooms apart "called each other, gave each other news," said Amélie de Bourbon-Parme on BFMTV.

"Phobia of doctors and drugs"

Asked about the choice of the two scientists not to be vaccinated against the Covid-19, the ex-wife of Igor Bogdanov explained that this decision was "not at all a political subject" but was rather "a decision very personal, linked to (their) phobia of doctors and drugs ”.

"They thought they were untouchable," she added, assuring that Igor's "close friends" had tried to convince him to be vaccinated.

Luc Ferry, philosopher and former Minister of Youth, National Education and Research, explained in particular that he tried to decide them, in vain.

Amélie de Bourbon-Parme has, moreover, specified that the funeral of the twins would take place the same day, next Monday at the church of the Madeleine, in Paris.
