Kratos and Atreus continue their adventure in Norse mythology this year - but will “God of War Ragnarök” also be released for the PS4 or will it be a PS5 exclusive?
"God of War Ragnarök" is the successor to the grandiose soft reboot of the PlayStation classic.
Protagonist Kratos, who took on the gods of the Greek Olympus in the original series, fights his way through Nordic mythology in the new edition.
At his side is his son Atreus.
The game is one of the most popular and successful PS4 titles.
The expectations for the second part, which promises many improvements on the PS5, are correspondingly high.
But does that mean PS4 owners are falling by the wayside?
Many fans still seem to be confused about whether “God of War Ragnarök” will also be released for PS4.

So it is with the PS4 version.
"God of War Ragnarök": is there also a PS4 version coming?
PS4 owners don't have to worry: the much-anticipated “God of War” sequel will also come onto the market for the old PlayStation.
This was confirmed by the head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, last year.
Details on the differences between the versions are not yet known,
and the specific release date has not yet been determined
.
"God of War Ragnarök" is not expected to be released until autumn 2022.
There is of course always the risk that the publication will be delayed.
But right now the chances are good that Kratos will return this year.
"God of War Ragnarök": PS5 version will offer various advantages
The fact that "God of War Ragnarök" appears for both console generations is probably due to the fact that the developers did not want to exclude any PlayStation players.
Mainly
because many haven't had
the chance to buy
the PS5 yet
.
Sony's new console has been hard to come by since it was released.
PS4 players have to make some compromises with the new "God of War".
Graphically, the game won't look as good as it does on the PS5.
Longer loading times are also to be expected.
