(ANSA) - MOSCOW, 05 JAN - Internet blackout at national level in Kazakhstan.

The NetBlocks web monitoring group on Twitter denounced it today.

"Kazakhstan is currently experiencing a nationwide internet blackout after a day of mobile internet outages" and other "partial restrictions," the NGO said, announcing that this "could severely limit the coverage of escalating anti-government protests."

In the country there are unprecedented protests initiated over the rise in energy prices.
