This is how you will upgrade your house to a beach house: a glimpse into Oz Zehavi's Greek house Israel today

You do not have to live in front of the ocean to design a spectacular beach house • Whether it is summer or winter, you can combine motifs from the worlds of sailing and shipping and create a light and nonchalant space • Take an example from the spectacular house of the busy actor

Inspirations make it possible to express our loves.

There are those who choose to be inspired by urban volumes, and there are those who are connected in their capillaries to botanical worlds of wild nature.

This time we chose to bring the sea home, even if we live far from it.

You will be amazed to see that with the right design, your guests will think your home is located on the shoreline.

We deliberately chose the marine environment as a source of inspiration, to illustrate that the season of the year does not matter.

Those who love the marine environment, will be able to fly on the idea even on cold winter days.

What will change are the elements for heating and cooling the space and using season-appropriate textiles.

The marine space is ventilated, moving as far away from a concrete look as possible and welcoming the wood look.

The marine seeks to look temporary, irregular, light-hearted, breathable.

If curtains, then light and flying and know how to transmit light through them.

If dyeing, then not opaque, but one under which the dyed material is seen.

The mindset is nonchalant, nothing is strenuous and there is no room for gravity.

Identified motifs

The marine environment abounds in motifs identified with it, and there is no obligation to incorporate them all. The motif of stripes in the colors of blue and white is one of the key when it comes to creating connections to the marine environment. The colors are taken from the worlds of sailing and shipping, and stripes in these shades will immediately connect your space to the look. The more the house emphasizes a breeze within it, the more it will connect to the style. Light white curtains that fly in the air for only a light touch will be the right curtains. Other motifs are the shells and anchors, which can be combined anywhere - on decorative pillows, wallpaper, bedding, lighting fixtures and more. Enough to incorporate an anchor in the small, and the message will already pass.

Sometimes you can use the motif as a source of inspiration and design items in its spirit, for example bed backs and armchairs inspired by oysters, and more.

White painted wood emphasizes the ephemerality and nonchalance - bare beams painted white, one under which the material can be seen, and the painting itself is not planed, but leaves the brush marks.

Along with the air conditioning and heating system, do not give up on a fan, which in the summer will create the wind that will put movement in the curtain and the rest of the time will serve as a decorative item.

Today there are fans with broad, braided wings, reminiscent of vegetation with broad leaves.

You can choose white, brown or natural shade fans.

Shades of water

The marine color is a perfect excuse to introduce you to the indigo - a polished, tinted blue shade, which is just right for those who want to create a marine, less formal environment.

The shade name, after the indigo plant, is well received on linen pillows, bedding and other items.

It is true that the shade itself is very specific, but inspired by it, a whole palette of shades of blue has developed from the worlds of jeans, from dark to polished in a grayish tone.

Apart from the indigo, any other blue will also be welcomed.

Along with the blue and white, there are two other main colors: the green aqua shade and the sand shades.

Aqua, water in English, represents a wide palette, from a celestial brush to greenish turquoise shades, in keeping with the natural sea look.

The Greeks are known for their considerable use of sea colors.

There is (almost) no island in Greece that does not boast whitish houses with domes and blue windows.

materialism

Almost anything that looks light and fluttering, yet creates a homely and enveloping look - will suit the marine environment.

Combine wicker seating systems instead of pompous bed eyebrows.

Natural straw, wood and textiles are the main materials that will help create a marine environment.

The textiles will be mainly linen and cotton, and the wood will be reflected in exposed beams and furniture items with a dropped and less binding look.

The accuracy of the context

Perhaps more than the materials, the finishes are important.

They produce the accuracy of the context.

One of the main materials is wood, but the finish of the material is what produced the exact link.

A wood with an unpolished finish, one that looks as if it has just been collected from the sea and from which the item was designed.

The used, unpolished look with bumps is the one that will fit in well.

Beside it, even the painted white wood will produce a look that has a precise connection to the style.

Mesh finishes will also be welcome, mainly due to the lightness and ventilation they bring into the space.

Faded finishes and the use of visible fringes and stitching will deepen and emphasize the unpretentious look identified with the style.

A touching emphasis

The decoration is meant to emphasize the style.

If you use the rest of the ingredients, it should be nothing more than a stressful touch.

Combining decoration with theme-related symbols can complete the look, but may also ruin its authenticity or make it too direct.

A desirable decorative touch is one that is incorporated into the small.

It could be a figurine of an anchor, a sailboat or less direct elements like a sea-scented candle, speakers looking like nautical rocks and more.
