This little phrase struck a chord with politicians and beyond.

Tuesday, facing a panel of seven readers of Le Parisien, the president answered various questions about the health crisis, ecology, security.

But one moment in particular aroused strong reactions: when the president said he wanted to "piss off" the unvaccinated.

Pauline Théveniaud, journalist in the political service of Le Parisien was there when Emmanuel Macron said these words - not filmed.

She tells us behind the scenes of this little sentence.

“We are all in the village hall with the president, each reader is seated at his little desk.

They've been talking with the President of Europe for an hour and twenty, and obviously the issue of the health crisis is being addressed.

The journalist explains that two caregivers express their "exhaustion".

One of them, Isabelle, is overwhelmed by the number of unvaccinated people entering intensive care.

"And there, the president gives him reason, explains our journalist.

He embarked on a long development on the question of the unvaccinated.

Emmanuel Macron then continues by paraphrasing Georges Pompidou: “Usually I'm not here to piss off the French.

Well there, the unvaccinated, I really want to piss them off ”.

A statement immediately followed by a "little moment of surprise", explains Pauline Théveniaud, "because we are not used to the president talking so cash."

The phrase was then taken up widely in the press.

Tuesday in the middle of the night the examination of the bill on the vaccine pass had to be suspended again because of the storm caused in the National Assembly by the little sentence of the president.
