Since January 4th, Burger King has had a new burger in its range across Germany.
But whether it will be well received by all customers is questionable.
Fast food chains * regularly add new products to their range, sometimes only for a short time, to test how they are received by customers.
Burger King
will be offering a new burger in January 2022.
However, this one will only be available for this one month and may be a disappointment for many meat fans.
Burger King takes part in Germany-wide campaign
Burger King is taking part in the “Veganuary” this year: a global initiative that calls for greater awareness of vegan nutrition in the first month of the year.
This includes avoiding animal products, which is rarely the case with most foods at fast food chains such as Burger King.
In addition to Burger King, many other companies across Germany take part in the Veganuary, such as Lieferando and Subway.
Supermarkets and discounters are also increasingly relying on plant-based products in their assortments in order to serve the target group who is interested in vegan nutrition for a variety of reasons.

Plant-based Long Curry
: The vegan burger, developed exclusively for the Veganuary, has been in the range since January 4th.
The patty does not consist of meat, but of soy and wheat and comes from The Vegetarian Butcher.
Incidentally, the Long Curry is not the very first vegan burger at Burger King: The company jumped on the nutrition trend earlier.
Plant-based long chicken, whopper and nuggets are already on offer, and the world's first plant-based product opened in Cologne in June 2021

Veganuary: Plant-Based Diets on the Rise
Not a bad idea, after all, the proportion of people who are vegetarian or vegan is growing steadily.
According to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, ten percent of the German population was vegetarian and two percent vegan in 2021 - that is twice as many as in the previous year.
Even if the plant-based long curry will disappear from the range after the Veganuary, Burger King will continue to rely on plant-based products after January - according to Marketing Director Klaus Schmäing in a press letter.
The response from the guests shows that they are on the right track.
