(ANSA) - BEIJING, 07 JAN - Dozens of politicians and new Hong Kong deputies have been quarantined after a Covid case linked to a birthday party attended by many members of the city's elite, putting next week's first meeting at risk of the local parliament renewed at the end of 2021 with the election for "patriots only".
As many as 19 deputies, out of the 90 total of the Legislative Council, were among the 170 people who attended the birthday party of Witman Hung, Hong Kong representative in the National People's Congress in Beijing, despite the draconian rules against the late wave of the Omicron variant.
