(ANSA) - PALERMO, 07 JAN - New field structures in the hospitals of Palermo to deal with the growing pressure on emergency areas by Covid patients, with ambulances queued for hours in front of the emergency room and siren activated in protest by health personnel . After the two "advanced medical points" in the tensile structure at the entrance to the Cervello and Civico hospitals, a third field hospital was also set up at the Partinico hospital. These aids, organized by the 118 management, are essential for getting patients off the ambulances and starting their assignment. The commissioner structure for the management of the Covid emergency in Palermo has made available to thehospital Cervello health personnel from 8 to 14 and from 14 to 20 to help colleagues in the emergency room. In addition, other Covid beds are being prepared at the Partinico hospital, the Civic hospital and the same Cervello hospital. Partinico resuscitation was reactivated in Covid resuscitation. "These additional measures - declared the Covid Commissioner of Palermo, Renato Costa - will allow us to face the next few days with greater serenity, waiting for the peak to be reached, which we hope will be in about two weeks. Fortunately, however, it must be said that the condition epidemiological is better than in the past: we have fewer deaths, intensive care is not under pressure like last year, the percentage of vaccinated is helping us.we have good prospects to overcome this moment ".
