This is a rule change that does not satisfy the government's “Mr. vaccine”.
Alain Fischer, president of the Orientation Council for the vaccine strategy, regrets this Friday that the agreement of both parents, and no longer just one, is now necessary to vaccinate children from 5 to 11 years old against Covid-19 .
"I think it's a bit unfortunate, it's an obstacle that dramatizes this notion of vaccination a bit," he said on LCI.
🔴🗣️ #Vaccination of #children: "It's unfortunate", for the @PrAlainFischer, that the authorization of the 2 parents is necessary.
"This notion dramatizes" the act, however "justified: there are 300 children under 10 currently hospitalized" #LesMatinsLCI |

After a request from the Council of State, the Ministry of Health clarified Thursday that it would now take the agreement of both parents to vaccinate the children.
Concretely, only one parent can be present during the vaccination appointment of a child from 5 to 11 years old, but he will have to be provided with a certificate on the honor according to which the second parent agrees, specified the Ministry.

"We have data on millions of children vaccinated" in Israel and the United States, "the side effects are even lower than in adolescents and adults", insists Professor Fischer, pleading for this vaccination in the most youth.
“There are sick children: around 300 children under 10 are currently hospitalized in France.
We know that vaccination prevents these complications, the possible long Covid ”, he argues.
Just over 1% of 5-11 year olds are vaccinated
Open since the end of December to all children, vaccination for this age group starts "slowly", he admits.
To date, very few have received a first injection: "80-90,000", or "a little more than 1%".
To accelerate it, we need to increase the possibilities of vaccination (among doctors, pediatricians, in centers, etc.) and “pedagogy”, says Professor Fischer.
He is also in favor of opening a booster dose for adolescents aged 12-18, currently reserved for the most fragile.
“I think we'll get there, I hope we will generalize it to all teenagers in the coming weeks.
