A calf escapes during a transport to the slaughterhouse.

Police officers found it in a park that same day and saved it from certain death.

New Jersey (USA) - Such an incredible story can only happen in New York. A heifer escapes during an animal transport to the slaughterhouse. You can call it fate or fate or just damn luck - in any case the calf runs straight into a beautifully landscaped park, namely the "Flushing Meadows Corona Park". An area created and administered by the "New York City Department of Parks and Recreation" in the northern borough of Queens, as reported by Landtiere.de.

The park rangers checking there discover the runaway Hereford heifer and immediately alert the police.

The officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) deal with the frightened creature that same day.

"Looks like our urban park rangers are in a sentimental mood today," they tweet on their account.

"After they discovered the heifer in the park, they managed to catch it through quick action and a clever strategy."

The helpful and animal-loving police officers give her the name “Stacy” and take her to the “Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue”.

An organization that specializes in “displaced, wild, equine and farm animals”.

And in fact, only a short time later, the animal welfare organization posts overjoyed on their Facebook account: "Little Stacy is doing very well, she quickly got used to us and is now in quarantine for the time being".

Kalb flees on the way to the slaughterhouse - and enjoys her new life

In a follow-up comment, Mike Stura, founder and president of Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue, reveals: “Little Stacy looks great and is extremely tolerant of the many examinations. But she is very healthy and can now enjoy her life. She is now getting to know some of our other protégés ”. You can see how the nine-month-old cattle gallops happily across a pasture. According to their website, the facility is home to about 450 other animal roommates and has grown from a small patch of land to an entire farm full of rescued souls over the years. "We save animals from slaughterhouses, from cattle markets, farms, from extreme neglect, abuse or from the street," it continues. How good that Stacy has found a new home here.
