She played in classics such as "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Sabrina" or "Charade" and thanks to her pony hairstyle and her elegant clothes she became a style icon: The Dutch-British actress Audrey Hepburn was one of the big stars of the 1950s and 1960s.
Now the industry magazine »Variety« reports that the US actress Rooney Mara will play Hepburn, who died in 1993, in a biopic.
The report was confirmed by the competitor "Hollywood Reporter".
Mara is also one of the most highly traded actresses of her generation.
She has already been nominated twice for an Oscar: 2011 for "Verblendung" and 2015 for "Carol".
She can soon be seen in Germany in Guillermo del Toro's »Nightmare Alley«.
The Italian Luca Guadagnino ("Call Me by Your Name") will direct the Hepburn film.
The client is the streaming service Apple TV +.
Further details of the content of the project have not yet been announced.
