On the North Sea island of Norderney, a 57-year-old woman was spilled by masses of sand on the edge of a dune on Thursday.
The woman was up to her neck in the sand, said the police in Aurich.
You could no longer free yourself.
Passers-by called for help.
Fire brigade comes to the rescue
The fire brigade was able to rescue the victim from the sand.
The woman from North Rhine-Westphalia was taken to hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.
According to the fire brigade on the North Sea island, there have been repeated demolitions on the edge dunes over the past few years, resulting in edges that are eight meters high.
