VIDEO. Police officer driving at full speed fatally runs over man

While on his way to assist colleagues, a policeman lost control of his vehicle and ran over a sexagenarian


Michael Wayne Jackson, 62, died brutally on December 4, hit by a police car in Houston, Texas.

The father of the family was on his way to his hairdresser when the vehicle tumbled down the sidewalk at full speed, overturning him fatally, before ending its mad race against a dumpster a few hundred meters away.

At the wheel of the vehicle, a young 25-year-old officer accompanied by a teammate of the same age.

The young police officers were trying to join their colleagues to lend them a hand when the driver lost control of the car.

"At approximately 5:39 p.m., two officers responded to a call to assist in a chase against people suspected of aggravated theft," said Houston Deputy Police Chief in a video posted on social media .

The police were driving with their lights and emergency siren.

As they approached Scott Street, the police vehicle pulled off the road, knocking over pedestrian Michel Wayne Jackson.

On the images recorded by the police pedestrian cameras and made public, we can see the two police officers rushing towards the inanimate body of the sexagenarian.

"He is not breathing, he is bleeding from the head," notes the driver of the police vehicle in a radio call, before starting a cardiac massage.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine whether charges should be brought against him.
