The German manufacturer presented its brand new model at the Consumer Electronics Show, the tech show in Las Vegas. Bluffing!

The car caused a sensation among visitors to CES.

Everyone was ecstatic in front of this magical vehicle, one user even shared it on TikTok, also under the spell.

And yet, this stunningly aesthetically pleasing car works thanks to ... e-reader technology.

Yes, this is the same technology used for a Kindle and a futuristic BMW.

Stella Clarke, the research and development engineer responsible for the project, explains the construction process.

“We do a lot of tests with paper, in 2D.

As soon as we are sure that it is perfect, we put the E Ink (color change technology) in laser.

Then we have a lot of 2D parts that we stick to the car.

[… It has to withstand weather conditions, and it has to withstand shocks.

At the last stage of coverage, this is where there are electronics and computer code to manage ”.

The result is a car that changes colors smoothly and can even alternate between them in a dynamic effect, just with one app.

“There are a lot of possible applications,” boasts Stella Clarke.

First, it allows more customizations, customization.

Two, it allows for example to flash it, if you forget where you parked.

Third, the color change helps regulate the temperature: white in summer to reflect the sun's rays, black in winter to absorb heat.

It therefore makes it possible to participate in the fight against global warming ”.
