At least six people were killed and nine others were seriously injured when a rock face collapsed by a waterfall in southeastern Brazil.
The authorities said up to 20 people could still be missing.
According to the local fire department, the rock tower suddenly broke off a canyon wall and crashed onto several boats.
Subsequently, a tidal wave raced over Lake Furnas near Capitolio in the state of Minas Gerais.
The state said divers and helicopters would be used to search for people in and around the water.
On video recordings of the accident, a collection of boats can be seen slowly sailing across the lake.
Suddenly a cliff above the lake cracks and falls into the water amid the screams of tourists.
Lake Furnas, also known as the "Sea of Minas", is a popular destination.
It is located about 420 kilometers north of the metropolis of São Paulo.
