Bicycle drinking bottles for children from the ZEFAL brand, which have been available in stores for several years, are now being recalled by the manufacturer.

Because there is a risk of suffocation.

Jargeau recalls are not uncommon in the product world.

Regardless of whether it is food or household items - in all business areas it can happen that an item ultimately turns out to be faulty.

However, such warnings are often more likely to affect products that have only recently been on the market.

The bicycle accessories giant ZEFAL has now launched a recall for a range of children's drinking bottles - which have been sold for years.

Anyone who owns such a drinking bottle should no longer use it.

Because with some colorful ZEFAL branded drinking containers there may be a risk of suffocation.

Recall for children's drinking bottles: there is a risk of suffocation

As the French company based in Jargeau announced, the affected products are several bicycle bottles for children, which have been available since January 2017.

According to new tests, there could be a risk of suffocation when using the item as the push-pull valve could come loose.

"So far, however, ZEFAL has not been aware of any incidents or loosening valves," writes the manufacturer.

"However, since the affected bottles were specially developed for children, ZEFAL decided to voluntarily recall the affected bottles as a matter of caution."

The bottles have been available in stores since January 2017.

You can tell from these markings on the bottom of the bottle whether your own item is affected.

As ZEFAL further informs, the bottles concerned vary in color and imprint, but are all labeled with "Zéfal" on the bottom of the bottle.

In addition, they all have a height of 158mm and a capacity of 350ml.

You can also tell whether an article is affected by the recall from the two numbers on the bottom.

If it says 17, 18, 19, 20 or 21, the bottle may be faulty and should no longer be used.

In addition, dangerous bacteria could be detected in a sausage specialty.
