The 41-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder, is in a state of confusion and has not been able to explain the reasons for his action. In the couple's house in the center of Como, where his parents also live, who were absent at the time of the act, the police seized the five swords that the man was holding, including the one used to strike his wife and a Japanese katan, as well as about 40 grams of marijuana.
Rescue was called by the woman, who was operated on urgently after being admitted to the hospital.
Her husband was also taken to the hospital in a confused state, and from there he was then directly transferred to prison.
"He was still confused, he said he doesn't remember anything, that he loves his wife and that he was having days of suffering," his lawyer said after the interview in prison as reported by the Como Province.
