Covid-19 in France: 91 new deaths and nearly 22,000 hospitalized patients

Some 3,847 patients with Covid-19 are treated in critical care services, reserved for the most serious cases.


The pressure remained strong on hospital services this Sunday, with more than 3,800 Covid-19 patients in critical care, services which received 151 patients in 24 hours.

In detail, 3,847 people are thus treated for the most severe forms of Covid-19, according to figures from Public Health France.

They were 3815 the day before and 3572 last week.

In total, 21,982 people are hospitalized with a diagnosis of Covid-19, with 842 new hospitalizations in 24 hours.

On Saturday, hospitals had 21,721 patients and on January 2, 19,043.

The disease has claimed 125,440 people since the start of the epidemic in spring 2020, of whom 98,299 have died in hospital, with 91 new deaths in 24 hours.
