A one-and-a-half-year-old baby is hospitalized in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Assuta Hospital in Ashdod due to complications of the flu.
The baby arrived at the hospital yesterday (Saturday) at noon by a Magen David Adom ambulance.
Instead they discovered that he had developed a fever the day before he was brought to the hospital.
After his condition deteriorated, which manifested itself in extreme difficulty in breathing, his family turned to Terem, and from there were transferred to Assuta.
After being admitted to the pediatric emergency department, it was found that the baby was suffering from severe shortness of breath and therefore needed a non-invasive respiration.
He was later transferred to the pediatric intensive care unit, where he was found to have type A flu. His condition improved, but he still needed respiratory support and intensive care.
