The director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, will approve the temporary marketing of antigen tests in the marketing networks, the Ministry of Health announced this morning (Sunday). The discount will be applied in the coming days and will be valid until April 15.
The decision was made following an application submitted to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz, and after consultation with professionals in the Ministry of Health, in order to lower the prices of tests.
The chains will be able to market the tests if they meet five conditions: the first - a business with a valid business license for the sale of food and beverages (except a butcher shop);
Second - the business will sell antigen kits exclusively in their original packaging;
Third - the business will store the tests under proper storage conditions separately from any other goods that can adversely affect their quality such as unpackaged food, vegetables, fruits or cleaning products;
Fourth - the assessments will be kept in a shady place protected from sunlight and any other heat source, in order to ensure their quality;
Fifth - the temperature in the storage place and in the business will not fall below 2 degrees Celsius and will not exceed 25 degrees Celsius, and for this purpose an air conditioner will be installed with temperature control that will be activated as needed.
Horowitz said after the publication of the directive: "We will allow the sale of home antigen tests in the retail chains as well, in addition to pharmacies and pharmacies. This will make the tests accessible and significantly reduce the price to the public. We will do everything necessary .
