Oven-baked potatoes - with a surprising secret ingredient (@eitan)

These winter days brought us back to the kitchen in full force, with one of the easiest and most delicious recipes to prepare being an oven-baked potato.

However, chain chef and influencer Ethan Burnett claims that we are not properly preparing our baked potatoes - and that we have in fact forgotten one critical ingredient that will make them soft on the inside and incredibly crunchy on the outside.

Ethan Burnett is a young chef and entrepreneur who has gained popularity online thanks to his easy-to-follow recipes and appetizing.

In a new video he claims that the ingredient that will make our baked potatoes a perfect dish is ... ready for it? ... mayonnaise.

In his instructional video he uses uncooked small potatoes, slaps a heaping tablespoon of mayonnaise on them, massages them well and adds a seasoning of 2 teaspoons of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, ground pepper and chopped parsley.

He mixes everything well and places the potatoes on a metal pan, which he puts in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

At the end of the video he shows his portion of baked potatoes painted on the outside in a golden-brown color: "And these are now well-baked and cooked. Look at them!".

Ethan also takes care to bite into one of them and show us what's going on inside: "Yummy. Completely soft inside. Right in the texture of a pillow inside, crunchy on the outside. Full of flavor!"

Although some viewers were not thrilled by the addition of mayonnaise, most of them remained bitter in front of the screen.

"It's insanely interesting. You should definitely give it a try," one reporter and another added, "Wow, they look so good."

Another viewer was convinced: "I must say I judged at first. I did not trust the recipe, but you managed to make me hungry."

Others have explained why mayonnaise is not a strange addition as many think.

One wrote: "People forget what mayonnaise really is (a mixture of vegetable oil and egg yolks). It makes 100 percent sense" and another added: "It works well. I've been putting mayonnaise on potatoes and chicken in the oven for years."
