“I no longer needed to rent to the Taliban. »Taken aback, Sebti Bouadjadja cannot believe his ears. This sentence has just been mumbled by the owner of an apartment that he reserved on Airbnb, a few minutes after their arrival in the rental for the inventory. This Saturday, December 25, this entrepreneur from Mulhouse decided to take his mother and 14-year-old son to see part of the family in Annecy. Living with Parkinson's disease and recently having two strokes, the mother has difficulty getting around. Sebti therefore decides to rent a comfortable apartment on Airbnb. But the rental did not go as planned.

As soon as they arrive on the scene, the owner stares at them in annoyance, Sebti recalls. A "disagreeable" hello, and a quick discovery of the apartment later, the woman whispers under her breath: "I no longer lacked that I rent to the Taliban". Shocked, the Mulhousien remains silent and continues the visit. “My mother was tired so I asked to install it before I finished the tour,” he explains. There, the Annécienne comes alive and launches: “I don't feel you, I don't praise. "

"Come on, hop hop", she insists, indicating the exit to the small family.

Surprised by this sudden about-face, Sebti explains that he reserved and paid the 460 euros requested.

"I told him: if it's 9:30 pm, where do you want us to go to sleep now?

She told me it wasn't her problem, ”he says.

Angry, the entrepreneur considers that he has been the victim of an act of discrimination.

“She made a facies offense.

It was humiliating, ”he breathes.

“I am a victim of xenophobia and racism.

I'm going to put this on social networks so that everyone can see that you are a racist and that you don't want to rent an apartment to an Arab ”, he asserts to the owner of the apartment in a video posted on them. social networks the same evening.

Airbnb contacted the father to inform him that the woman had been banned from the platform and the reservation was refunded to him.

Sebti Bouadjadja contacted his lawyer who lodged a complaint with the public prosecutor in Annecy.

From this procedure, he awaits a conviction, "even symbolic", from the owner, to show his young son, shocked by the scene, "that in France, discrimination is punished".
