This and much more was the first iPhone that Steve Jobs launched on January 9, 2007 in San Francisco, eliminating the keyboard and opening up to the 'touch', now familiar even to children, and to the world of apps.

The first iPhone was called 2G or Edge had a small display compared to the current ones (it measured only 3.5 inches) but at the time it seemed large.
