"We have great esteem and consideration for Meloni and Salvini, they have also shown as ministers that they know how to do their job well, they have great experience, are loyal and correct leaders, they have always supported Silvio Berlusconi and they are doing it even now. There are no vetoes. , they are our friends, natural allies, we will see what happens. For our part, there will be no obstacle to the indication of one of these two leaders ": said Tajani, responding on the possibility that in the next elections the center-right prime minister is one among the leaders of FdI and Lega.

Speaking of the method of sharing invoked by many for the choice of the new president of the Republic, Tajani explained that FI "is for the sharing of every choice: we believe that Berlusconi is the man who more than any other in recent months has given a signal of unity to the country ". Tajani has no doubts, speaking of the scenarios related to the race to the Quirinale.

"This government of national unity exists because Draghi is there - he said. He is the guarantor of this heterogeneous coalition: he is not a technician, he is Mario Draghi. No one is able to hold such a heterogeneous government with his personality".

If Draghi left Palazzo Chigi, he added, "we would find ourselves facing the elections, with a negative signal to the markets: we would do damage to our country".
