The gain from a drop in discrimination in hiring remains difficult to assess

While the macroeconomic benefit is certain, the positive effects in companies are more difficult to identify.


For several decades, successive governments have been pursuing proactive policies in an attempt to reduce discrimination in hiring on the labor market.

A subject on which France appears to be a bad student.

In 2020, the Defender of Rights collected 5,196 referrals for discrimination.

A figure which obviously does not reflect the full extent of the problem, insofar as, according to the authority, 80% of people facing such a situation have not taken steps to assert their rights.
