(ANSA) - CARACAS, 10 JAN - The Venezuelan opposition, gathered in the table of the democratic union (Mud), won the elections held yesterday in the emblematic State of Barinas, emblematic for being the one in which the ex-president Hugo was born Chávez.
The National Electoral Council (Cne) of Venezuela reported via Twitter that the opposing candidate Sergio Garrido (Mud) obtained 55.36% of the votes, while the government candidate of the Gran Polo Patriótico, Jorge Arreaza, reached 41.27%. .
In the erzo place was classified Claudio Fermín, of the moderate opposition Alianza Democrática with 1.77% of the suffrages.
Before the official results were released, Arreaza had acknowledged Garrido's victory, underlining that he "did not get the result we intended".
Barinas is the fourth Venezuelan state conquered by the opposition in Venezuela following the administrative elections held on November 21 and yesterday.
