The series will contain archive footage that has not yet been shown to the general public, documenting the singer's 21 years of activity.
Among other things, it will contain videos taken while West was working on his first album "The College Dropout" which was released in 2004, as well as his intimate moments with his mother Donda, before she passed away in tragic circumstances in November 2007.
In anticipation of the series' rise, the network has now released a one-minute teaser, in which West is seen in 2002, describing an argument with rapper Rampfest, also from Chicago, that revolves around the question of whether West is a genius or not.
"Fest and I got into an argument in the car," the young West tells the camera.
"I feel like he did not respect me. He tried to say I was not a genius yet."
When asked about Rampfest whose name define himself as a genius, West stares at the camera and smiles, in a rare moment that reveals quite a bit of self-confidence but also vulnerability.
The "West Trilogy" is scheduled to air on Netflix on February 16.
