An educator in Mexico City has been sentenced to 494 years and nine months in prison for multiple sexual abuse in a kindergarten.
The man is said to have abused at least 17 children, as the attorney general announced on Tuesday night (local time).
The man was found guilty of rape and sexual abuse, among other things.
A victim's father filed a complaint
The father of one of the victims had filed the first complaint against the employee of the state day care center "Marcelino de Champagnat" in October 2018.
The attorney general's office said that he was later proven to have been sexually abused in 17 cases by taking advantage of his position.
The court also sentenced the man to pay a fine and compensation to the victims' families.
As the local newspaper "La Prensa" reports, the judge also ordered reparation measures for the injured party.
For example, they should receive support in finding accommodation, grants and support in finding work.
