After "Mary Lou" with songs by Zvika Pick, and "A Restless Night" with songs by Shlomo Artzi, another artist wins a musical from his songs, and this time - Hanan Ben Ari.
The Orna Porat Theater is currently working on "World Champion", a musical play with Ben Ari's songs.
The play will be written by playwrights Shlomit Arnon Barlev and Liat Fishman Lenny, and will be directed by Amit Epstein.
The show is expected to premiere on Purim 2022.

Hanan Ben-Ari: "I am very complimented that theater in the Premier League puts on an original production based on songs I wrote. A great privilege, and waiting to watch this work with the audience."
As published last August, Hanan Ben-Ari's "If You Will" was the most played song on the radio in 1951, according to data from this year's ACUM, which examined the number of plays of Israeli works.
David Kiegler, theater director: "After a period we never dreamed of, we sought to return to our large audience with the highest quality, sought-after and original content. Our inspiration for this was Hanan's songs, which symbolize Israeliness and the most sincere and strong values for us. We are excited about the show. "Arousing in the corridors of the world of theater even before we set out."
Yifat Yatach-Ron, artistic director: "In one of the closures, when the entire cultural industry was completely paralyzed, a video came to me in which Hanan, with a guitar in hand, sings and talks to children with special needs.
This video moved me, and at that moment the idea for the show was born.
"The World Champion will deal with values such as unity, compassion, giving and empowerment, and the healing and authoring power of music."
