Isolation, tests ... Faced with constantly changing rules, Le Parisien offers you a simulator in order to know how to proceed

It has become a puzzle as the rules have changed since its inception on January 2.

The health protocol at school, for all students, over or under 12 years old, will be lightened from Friday, said Tuesday the Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer.

So what are the new rules?

Le Parisien offers you a simulator below, updated with the changes announced by the government, in order to know what to do when a student, depending on his age, is declared a contact or positive case for Covid-19.

For students positive for Covid-19, the rule depends on the age.

For those over 12 who have been vaccinated and all children under 12, vaccinated or not, isolation is seven days (five with a negative PCR or antigen test on the fifth day).

For those over 12 years old, but unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, isolation is ten days (seven with negative PCR or antigen test).

Unless you want to get out of isolation prematurely, there is no need to take a test to get out of isolation.

Changing rules for contact cases

For students with Covid-19 contact, the rule is simple and remains unchanged for those over 12 years unvaccinated or not completely: they remain subject to seven days of isolation after which they must have a PCR and antigen test. negative.

For those over 12 who have been vaccinated and all children under 12, vaccinated or not, there is no isolation to be carried out.

However, a series of tests must be carried out: the first as soon as you become aware of the risky contact, then another two days later and yet another four days later.

Until Friday, the first test must be a PCR or antigen test.

Tests, isolation ... our simulator to know the procedure to follow

After difficulties around the realization of antigenic and PCR tests, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced Monday that the self-test will be sufficient for the realization of the first test.

A single sworn certificate, after this first test, must be issued by the parents at the school and no longer one after each test.

The Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, said on Tuesday that these new rules will come into force on Friday.

The self-tests will be delivered free of charge in pharmacies against a certificate provided by the school.
