"In the cities of art and in particular in the historic centers, the situation has returned to a great crisis. In 2020 alone 20 thousand companies in Italy were closed among public establishments and in 2021 we estimate the same number. Tourists are missing, the return of the smart working impacts and the activities close. And to this must be added the temporary closures due to Covid or quarantines ". The general director of Fipe Roberto Calugi tells ANSA, who complains about tens of thousands of jobs at risk.
"The catering companies, airport and station restaurants, canteens not to mention discos and arcades are skipping - says Fipe -. We are asking the government at least to extend the Covid Cig. The ban on dismissal has expired since January 1, but if you fail to keep companies on their feet, you are forced to lay off tens of thousands of people. "
On the catering front, according to Calugi, the sector is running at two speeds, "neighborhood restaurants, for example, hold up better, there is great suffering in the historic centers of art cities".
