It is a shadow activity - the robbery - practiced by a gangster eager for light and spotlights.

Not an ordinary criminal, Redoine Faïd has woven his reputation from his Guynemer district, in Creil (Oise), to the prisons from which he escaped twice in 2013 and 2017. In the meantime, in 2010, he had frequented the plateaus TV, where he was promoting his book, written behind bars, and his repentance.

In various shows, Faïd then appears elegant, intelligent, posed. He describes in particular his passion for the cinema and the films which inspired him to carry out some of his robberies of armored vans. On the big screen, the weapons are fictitious; in life, they are real. And in 2010, the so-called banditry retiree was again involved in the preparation of a van attack that went wrong and that cost the life of a municipal policewoman, Aurélie Fouquet.

Imprisoned in 2011, "the Writer", as some police officers ironically call him, escaped twice.

The first time by taking guards hostages and blowing up the walls of Lille-Sequedin prison;

the second by escaping from Réau prison (Seine-et-Marne)… By helicopter.

Caught up each time, Redoine Faïd, multiple repeat offenders and multiple convicted offenders, inherited, in 2018, a 25-year prison sentence in the case that led to the death of Aurélie Fouquet.
