The decision deals another blow to the Duke of York, whose reputation and position within the royal family has been affected by his ties to the convicted Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The desire of Prince Andrew, 61, that a New York judge dismiss the sexual abuse lawsuit filed last summer by Virginia Giuffre, has been frustrated after the magistrate decided Wednesday to reject the motion. The defense argued that the Duke of York was untouchable because the financial settlement that the plaintiff had reached in 2009 with the late magnate Jeffrey Epstein also protected the prince. The claim must be “denied in all its aspects,” Judge Lewis Kaplan has declared without a doubt.

On January 3, the legal agreement reached by the victim - who was then called Virginia Roberts - was made public in November 2009, for which she received $ 500,000 to avoid going to trial for having been handled and sexually exploited when she was one under the age of 17 by Epstein and by his lover and adolescent achiever, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The son of Elizabeth II, who denies the facts, faces a civil lawsuit by Giuffre for three cases of sexual abuse and rape: in Maxwell's London apartment when he was a minor, in Epstein's mansion on Fifth Avenue in New York, and on one of its private islands in the Caribbean.

The victim, who is 38 years old today, is married and resides in Australia, is one of 30 women who raised their voices to denounce the crimes of trafficking in minors of Epstein, who committed suicide at age 66 in his cell in 2019 a waiting for a judicial process for crimes of sex with minors.
