Do you want to try it vegan, but find it difficult to go without cheese?
You can easily make a vegan Parmesan alternative yourself.
You have probably heard of “Veganuary *” by now: It is a global movement that is taking place in Germany for the third time this year. The aim should be to introduce people to a
vegan diet
and to support them in following a purely plant-based diet for a month. There are many reasons for a vegan diet: from environmental aspects to animal welfare to a healthier lifestyle. Many companies, grocery and drugstores are jumping on the trend in Veganuary and are offering more vegan products than usual. But you don't have to buy everything, you can simply make many plant-based alternatives yourself. For example a
variant of Parmesan without cheese
.
You can find out how this works in the recipe below.
You only need four ingredients and a few seconds.

Cheese is not always vegetarian
Unfortunately, cheese is not only not vegan, but in many cases not even vegetarian.
Some cheese manufacturers use an
animal enzyme
that breaks down milk proteins.
The animal
rennet
is created in the stomach of young calves, which have to be slaughtered in order to get to the substance.
Fortunately, many companies are now using alternatives such as microbial rennet, chymosin or plant rennet.

Simple recipe: make vegan parmesan yourself in no time
The preparation of the
vegan Parmesan alternative
is super simple.
Simply put the four ingredients mentioned above in a blender or in a food processor and puree them briefly so that a fine structure is created, like grated Parmesan.
That's it!
Now you can refine your spaghetti or other pasta of your choice or sprinkle it on pizza and lasagna.
You can also fill the parmesan substitute in a clean jar with a lid and store it in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
Have fun trying it out and enjoy your meal!
