The son of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain faces further legal consequences because of his connections to the multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged abuse network.
A judge in metropolis New York declined to dismiss charges against Prince Andrew of sexual abuse.
That emerges from a court decision published on Wednesday.
The Royal had accused the now 38-year-old Virginia Giuffre.
She claims to have been made a sex slave by the now deceased Epstein and his ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell as a teenager along with dozens of other minors.
Prince Andrew, who was acquainted with Epstein, is said to have abused her when she was 17.
Andrew had always denied the allegations.
Most recently, a previously secret agreement between Giuffres and Epstein was made public in 2009.
In it, the two had agreed that Giuffre would not accuse anyone from Epstein's environment who could be considered a "potential defendant".
The document also mentioned a payment of $ 500,000 to Giuffre (then around 330,000 euros), who was then still called Virginia Roberts.
Prince Andrew's attorneys then argued that the deal would save their client from prosecution.
District Judge Lewis Kaplan decided differently.
