(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 12 - "I would be delighted to hold Mattarella at the Quirinale. It would be important not to lose Mattarella and Draghi together".
This was said by the leader of Action, Carlo Calenda, on the sidelines of the presentation of the federation between his party and + Europe.
"On the Quirinale we have an absolute identity of views and we think that the Draghi government should go ahead with a government pact. For the Quirinale we put forward the name of Minister Marta Cartabia. But Emma Bonino would also be perfect, I would sign it tomorrow morning", he explained Calenda. His possible center-right candidates, he added, "we have no exclusions of any kind, but Silvio Berlusconi does not exist: his behavior these days proves it, it is not responsible to say that he would leave the government if he were elected Draghi, while the prime minister is speaking. Repubblic is not a career Oscar. It does not matter where he comes from, the important thing is that he is a person of quality, with a standing capable of representing the country ".
Faced with the possibility of supporting a new government after the election of the head of state, Calenda replied: "It depends who leads it and what to do".
