Saxony: 60 tons of granite pavement stolen from the freight yard

Thieves tore dozens of tons of stones out of the ground in Zittau, Saxony. When and how the 280 square meters of pavement got lost is unclear.

Strangers stole an enormous amount of stones from the freight yard in the Saxon city of Zittau.

As the federal police announced on Wednesday, it is 60 tons of paving stones, an area of ​​around 280 square meters is affected.

It is therefore unclear when exactly the theft occurred on the Zittau train station premises.

Deutsche Bahn employees noticed the lack of stones and informed the police on Monday.

The time of the offense can be narrowed down to the days between December 16 and January 3.

The damage amounts to around 9,000 euros.
