Swine fever: 'infected area' in 114 municipalities of Piedmont and Liguria

"Pending the order of the Ministry that will define the extraordinary measures to limit the spread of the disease - explains the regional councilor for health of Piedmont, Luigi Genesio Icardi - the ASL of Alessandria is asking the mayors of the municipalities concerned to prohibit their hunting for all species in the territory, strengthening as much as possible the surveillance of wild boars and breeding pigs. The vigilance on biosecurity measures in the domestic sector has been raised to the highest level of alert, with particular regard to all transport and movement of animals, feed, products and people.



This week - concludes Icardi - we will meet the agricultural trade unions to take stock of developments in the health situation.
