'Scream' is back, it is scary, fun and makes fun of itself

If you are a fan of a saga, you always know too much and so nothing ever makes you really happy and 'sequel', 'prequel' and 'reboot' are certainly not enough. (HANDLE)

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 13 - If you are a fan of a saga, you always know about it and so nothing ever makes you really happy and certain 'sequel', 'prequel' and 'reboot' are not enough. This is what happens with the fifth episode of SCREAM - the first without Wes Craven to whom the horror is dedicated - in which a little bit of everything is mixed, bringing in new and old characters and involving, in a completely original way, even the same ones. Scream-addicted who at some point analyze the genre and do not fail to take a little bit of fun. This umpteenth episode, from 13 January in cinemas in 325 copies distributed by Eagle Pictures, brings us twenty-five years after the first series of heinous and cruel murders that had upset the quiet town of Woodsboro and ten years later the fourth film of the franchise. Clearly this timeassassin is brand new, but always with the institutional Ghostface mask inspired by the Scream of Munch, a masked serial killer who points his huge butcher knife on the usual group of teenagers, a little bit stupid, struggling with their thousand youthful impulses. And in the sign of the old as of the new, we find in the cast: Neve Campbell (in the role of Sidney Prescott), Courteney Cox (in those of Gale Weathers) and DavidArquette (Dewey Riley) who return to interpret their historic roles together with Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner , Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, MarleyShelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sonia Ammar.masked serial killer pointing his huge butcher knife on the usual group of teenagers, a little bit stupid, grappling with their thousand youthful impulses.     Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and based on characters created by Kevin Williamson, the film begins with a brief and menacing invitation from Ghostface himself who, after reminding himself that the serial killer could be anyone, invites not to reveal it, under penalty of a stab.

And precisely in this spirit it seems that, during the making of SCREAM, the same production did not know who the killer really was: multiple versions of the script were specially used to avoid involuntary spoilers by the employees.
