Hundreds of doctors in isolation, fearing a decline in the quality of care

Morbidity among medical staff, along with the national wave of caravans and other winter illnesses such as influenza, has led both to an increase in the number of patients coming to hospitals, and to a reduction in the manpower available to Tee Pool - due to isolation.

As a result, there is a fear of harm to the quality of care in hospitals.

According to the Ministry of Health, 5,657 medical staff, of whom 767 doctors and 1,504 brothers and sisters are in isolation today due to the corona.

Prof. Nadav Davidovich, Director of the Public Health School at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, explains in an interview with Israel Today that "at this point we are under a heavy load on the Mount Poi staff, both in the hospitals and in the community. From the characteristic load every winter, including the flu, which this year appeared more sharply than average, and certainly compared to last winter, when all over the world we did not experience significant morbidity. The wave in the near future does not bode well in this context. "

According to Davidovich, "The crews are exhausted, and some of them are in repeated isolation, which again raises the question of the possible reduction in the number of isolation days. In the training of personnel in a number of areas (for example, in the number of nurses, which is significantly lower in Israel than the average in the OECD countries).

"If the forecasts are adjusted and we see an increase in morbidity - and severe morbidity in particular - it will affect treatments and other strains in other areas, so we should try to express this immediately, and not as was done in the first wave."
