US actor Jason Momoa and his wife and colleague Lisa Bonet will go their separate ways.
Their love for one another will live on, the couple announced on Wednesday in a joint statement on Momoa's Instagram account.
But as a spouse, they would separate.
This is happening in times of great changes that affect many families, it says in the message.
But it goes on to say that her devotion to her children is "unchangeable".
Momoa and Bonet have been a couple since 2005.
The two married in 2017.
Their children were born in 2007 and 2008.
Bonet had previously been married to the musician Lenny Kravitz.
With him she has another child, the 33-year-old actress Zoë Kravitz.
Momoa became famous for his role as Khal Drogo in the first season of the TV series "Game of Thrones".
As "Aquaman" in the comic book adaptation "Justice League" he made it to the big screen.
The 42-year-old cultivates the image of the lovable, attractive fighter with a big heart.
Bonet, 54, was already known as a girl: she played the role of Denise Huxtable in the television series "The Bill Cosby Show" and in the offshoot "College Fever".
