Cyclamen are popular indoor plants for winter.
We will show you which mistakes you should avoid when caring for it in order to have something from the flower for a long time.
Depending on the species, cyclamen bloom between July and April *.
Therefore, the plant is ideal for bringing some color into the apartment even in dreary winter - everything from white to purple to red is included.
So that you can still enjoy your primrose plant in the next year, you should avoid a few mistakes.
Caring for cyclamen: avoid waterlogging
Like so many plants, the cyclamen does not tolerate
waterlogging
.
If there is too much water in the pot, the tubers will start to rot and the leaves will turn yellow.
The plant also does not tolerate it if the water is poured directly onto the bulb, leaves or flowers.
So pour the cyclamen over the coaster and
after around 20 minutes dispose
of the excess water that the plant has not absorbed.
Choose soft, warm water and repeat the process as soon as the top layer of soil in the pot has dried.

The cyclamen site must not be too warm
Cyclamen do not tolerate high room temperatures and low humidity.
Therefore, you shouldn't put the plant in a heated room.
A
bright, cool place on a windowsill
is best - but without direct sunlight.
The bedroom or a winter garden are best suited for this.
The temperature of the location should be around 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.

Note the rest time of the cyclamen
During the flowering period, cyclamen are given a
liquid fertilizer
approximately every two weeks .
After flowering, however, you should not fertilize the plant any further, as it has to prepare for the rest period.
You should also gradually limit watering.
After the ice saints, you can put the cyclamen outside in a partially shaded place.
You can then bring the plant back into the house in autumn.
