Nearly 38.5% of teachers are on strike in schools, according to the Ministry of Education, while the SNUipp, the first primary union, announces 75% of strikers. One in two primary schools is thus closed, according to the SNUipp-FSU. In middle and high schools, 23.7% of teachers are mobilized, according to the ministry, while the Snes-FSU, the first secondary union, announces 62% of strikers.
The massive strike movement in national education, supported by the FCPE, the first federation of parents of pupils in France, takes place in a tense context in schools, where the different health protocols in the face of the Omicron wave have complicated the Back to School.
Many events planned
The Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, who accused teachers of "striking against the virus", is widely criticized.

Numerous demonstrations are planned across France on Thursday.
In Paris, the procession will start at 2 p.m. from Place Edmond-Rostand, in the 6th arrondissement, towards the Ministry of Education, in the 7th arrondissement.
