The government is loosening the screw.
Faced with the strong presence of the Omicron variant on both sides of the Channel, the executive has decided to relax the conditions of entry into France for vaccinated travelers from the United Kingdom.
From Friday, they will no longer have to present a compelling reason or to respect a 48-hour isolation on their arrival in France, announced Matignon in a press release on Thursday.
“The government has chosen to lighten the specific health control measures at the borders which were decided on last December for vaccinated travelers from the United Kingdom.

From Friday, a vaccinated traveler from the UK will only need to show a negative test (PCR or antigen) within 24 hours.
"We will once again be able to travel from the United Kingdom for leisure reasons and go skiing," added the Minister for Tourism and SMEs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, on TV5 Monde.
Compelling reason and ten-day quarantine for the unvaccinated
However, the constraints remain strong for the unvaccinated.
These travelers from the United Kingdom will have to justify a compelling reason and "observe a strict quarantine period of ten days at this place", specifies the government, which explains that this isolation "will be controlled by the forces of the order ”.
Faced with the "tidal wave" caused by the Omicron variant, the government decided at the end of December to tighten the entry conditions into France for travelers from the United Kingdom.
Compelling reasons had thus been reinstated, such as the requirement of a test and the 48-hour isolation period.
