Argentine Kevin Benavides, after the bitter retirement on Wednesday that ousted him from the competition, made up for it today by winning the 11th stage and penultimate stage of the Dakar rally with his Ktm - a 346 km circuit starting and finishing in Bisha - ahead of British Sam Sunderland's GasGas by four seconds and Portuguese Joaquim Rodriguez's Hero by over two minutes.
In the general classification of the bikes, Sunderland took the lead thanks to today's unsuccessful performance of the French Adrien Van Beveren, who accumulated 21 minutes of lead at the finish line with his Yamaha and was also overtaken by Chilean Pablo Quintanilla (Honda) and by Austrian Matthias Walkner (Ktm).
Danilo Petrucci has risen to 17 / o place.
