The Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani, during the Christmas period delivered to the premier, Mario Draghi, a preliminary document with a package of ten measures (including structural ones) to contain the expensive bills.
Cingolani's document serves as the basis for a provision on the subject (probably a law decree) that the government intends to issue by the end of January.
ANSA learned this from government sources.
According to the Democratic Party, the issue is a priority.
"The increase in the cost of energy is a priority on which the Democratic Party calls for a rapid commitment from the Government, with measures that reinforce the measures already put in place in recent months and with the latest budget law", says Chiara Braga, Environment manager of the party secretariat.
"Resources are needed to support the most affected economic sectors, energy-intensive manufacturing and SMEs, also by providing for a budget variance, structurally allocating the proceeds from ETS auctions and working on viable hypotheses of sharing by producers and finance that in this phase they are making extra profits ".
