Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina, prominent members of Gabon, were 'negativized' a week after having tested positive for the Anticovid test: the two were thus unable to participate in the debut of the 'Panthers' in the African Cup.
This was announced by the Gabonese Football Association.
Arsenal striker Aubameyang, who is also the team captain, has already trained with his team mates.
Team coach Patrice Neveu, however, tested positive, again according to what the Federation reveals.
Gabon won their opening match 1-0 on Monday against Comoros, the next opponents in Group C will be Ghana (tomorrow) and Morocco (January 18).
