The different mask regulations at Aldi and Co. cause confusion among customers.

That was the fate of a pregnant woman as well.

Mannheim - The concern about the Omikron variant currently means that the corona rules in the state are constantly changing.

Even when shopping, customers of Aldi * and Co. have had to pay attention to a few things since the beginning of the pandemic.

The only problem is that the rules on hygiene measures or the requirement to wear a mask are by no means uniform; they not only differ from state to state but also in some cases in the various retail chains.

There is currently great confusion, especially with the regulations on the corona mask requirement.

Again and again customers turn to the supermarkets and discounters they trust because they were turned away in the branch because of the "wrong" mask.

This is more common, especially in Baden-Württemberg, where an FFP2 mask has to be worn in many areas.

A heavily pregnant Aldi customer from Mannheim * is now complaining about her suffering on Facebook after having had an unpleasant experience in a branch.

Mask requirement at Aldi: customer complains to discounter - "very pregnant thrown out"

With the new edition of the Corona Ordinance of Baden-Württemberg, the rules for the FFP2 mask requirement * in indoor areas changed almost overnight, as HEIDELBERG24 * already reported. While the mask rule was previously still a recommendation, wearing an FFP2 mask became mandatory in certain areas on January 12th. This was the undoing of a pregnant woman from Mannheim when she wanted to go shopping with a surgical mask on the day of the rule change.

"I was just thrown out of the Aldi in Mannheim, heavily pregnant because I wasn't wearing an FFP2 mask," the woman complains on the Aldi Süd Facebook page.

"In general, I found the handling of the situation questionable, but that the situation is approached by your employees without a sense of proportion ... honestly, I have no words", the Aldi customer continues.

The instructions are apparently implemented by the employees “regardless of losses”.

FFP2 mask requirement at Aldi: Pregnant customer calls for "more humanity"

The Aldi customer complains in connection with her expulsion due to the lack of an FFP2 mask that "any humanity" would have been missing in this situation. "According to the employee, you can't make an exception for everything," she said of the incident. “My 39th ssw belly cannot really be overlooked and that pregnancy - especially towards the end - can be difficult is nothing new,” the customer defends. “I hope for more humanity again in the future!” She finishes her Facebook post.

The pregnant woman's complaint is not the only one of its kind on Aldi Süd's Facebook page.

Another customer recently complained because his elderly father in an Aldi branch in Baden-Württemberg was thrown out without further ado due to the lack of an FFP2 mask. * In the Facebook community, many customers were able to understand the man's anger - or described similar experiences.

Other users, on the other hand, defended the dealer's house right to be able to implement the FPP2 mask requirement in their branches.

Aldi: Pregnant women rejected without an FFP2 mask - this is how the discounter reacts to the complaint

The Aldi Süd social media team takes the pregnant customer's complaint seriously - but also points out that the employees in the branches are encouraged to implement the FFP2 rule in Baden-Württemberg. "If we were rough with you, we are of course very sorry," apologizes one of the staff members to the woman. “However, we are bound by the current legal resolutions and have to implement them on site. Since (...) wearing an FFP2 or comparable mask is mandatory in BW, our employees must also implement this. "

Other Aldi customers hit the discounter's side in the comments.

“Pregnant women don't have any special rights and I don't think it's okay to ask for something like that,” says a customer.

“Absolutely correct behavior by the Aldi employees!” Comments another person.
