Offensive messages, raving phrases about the causes of death and hypotheses of links with Covid and the vaccine.

The police have initiated investigations on the messages that appeared on social networks in the hours following the death of the president of the European Parliament, David Sassoli.

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome and the Postal Police have been investigating for a few days to try to trace the authors of the insulting sentences and fake news that, as often happens in these cases, have made the rounds of the web. Already during Sassoli's first hospitalization, which took place in September for pneumonia caused by the salmonella bacterium, hundreds of comments appeared on the net in which references were made, as the cause of the disease, to the vaccine administered to the president of the European Parliament. Yesterday the men of the Arma filed a first report with the first acts of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office. The magistrates in the coming days will therefore proceed with the formal opening of an investigation file. The dossier could end atattention of the anti-terrorism pool that deals with crimes against state personalities. It is not excluded that the investigators can proceed with the crime of defamation or threats.

For their part, the Postal specialists have created a team that will deal exclusively with this matter.

The agents aim to identify the twitter profiles and IP addresses from which the hate campaign against the former Tg1 journalist who died on Tuesday at the age of 65 began.

In this context, the police have already forwarded requests for data to the companies that manage the social networks.

After the news of Sassoli's death became public knowledge, a no vax from Carrara, in Tuscany, was denounced for contempt for the publication of a video entitled 'God sees and provides' in reference to the premature death of the president of the European Parliament .
