(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 13 - The funeral home for David Sassoli, president of the EU Parliament who died two days ago, was opened at 10.30 in the Capitol.


   Among the first to pay homage to him was the president Sergio Mattarella, who will also be present tomorrow at the state funeral in Santa Maria degli Angeli.

The president of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the number one of the EU Council Charles Michel are also expected tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the race for success opens, with the Maltese of the Ppe Roberta Metsola on pole.
